How to Loom Knit
Loom knitting can be easy according to the patterns you choose. The basic e-wrap for a round loom is as follows:
- Anchor the yarn in the thumb tac at the beginning of the round
- Hold the loom in your hands with the pegs and middle toward you
- Wrap the yarn loosely around the pegs
- Go in clockwise around the loom when wrapping – you maybe going around the loom in a clockwise motion, however, when wrapping the yarn you are actually wrapping counterclockwise such as under, over, and around in a design to form the cursive letter e.
- Go completely around the loom; wrap each peg one at a time with 2 strands of yarn.
- Go around the loom again with the same pattern.
- Anchor the yarn after you made it around the loom twice by wrapping it around the tac.
- You are now ready to begin knitting
When you begin knitting:
- Start at the first peg
- Once again go clockwise to the right of the tac as stated above
- Place the hook under the first row of wrapped yarn
- Lift it up and over the top yarn on that peg - 1st stitch complete
- Do the same around the loom
- Now you have finished one row of knitting.
- Follow directions on the pattern
